Reborn!

The dream of having an epic adventure has always been scratching the back of my head ever since I was young.

Epic journeys, epic friendships, epic everything! But most of all - epic, head-on battles. Good vs. Evil. Ooooh yeah.

There's that longing inside every child to feel that sense of belonging. To me, it was somewhere near that- as frail as I am, I want to participate in something that brings glory to something that is not me. A cause, maybe, or another person. Life and time went on, passed by, until the kid me grew up and became the not-so-kid me now. The world was a bland, dreary, dark place to live in, and all my dreams of being in something epic have faded into the night...

Until I found the King who would bring me to all of it- Jesus Christ, the Son  of God.

Okay, now that might sound like anti-climactic to some, but soon you'll understand it, if you come to know Him too.

So what's the big deal about my dream and coming to know Jesus? Well, as my dream to become some-sort-of-knight caught up with me (oh yes, I'm old, but not Gandalf-old!) I realized that by coming to Jesus, I became an official part of His army! Yeah. The battle between good and evil is not yet over, and The Messiah has just recruited me into The Divine Mafia! Or whatever His army is called. :D I came to answer His recruitment call as I read from Ephesians 6:10-17:

"10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

It sounds cliche, but the first time I really read this, it sounded like some pre-battle scene from Troy or The Lord of the Rings. I heard the Good News when I was young, but did not understand much of it then. If I only knew, then I would've been in this grand battle a lot earlier. But it's not too late, says the Lord. So with His assurance, I join the fray!

This is just the beginning of my dream - an epic adventure, an epic journey, with epic friendships and of course the epic battle. To God be the glory!
